Adult Contemporary Hip Hop/Rap Collective - Artcha, Dray Styles & SKANDOUZ otherwise known as the FRSHRZ - have returned with their 5th musical offering in the last 5 years - their new EP entitled - 'Glass Ceiling'.
'Glass Ceiling' EP - is an evolution of the FRSHRZ's musicality and creativity with, a continued exhibition of their penmanship on an assortment of topics and an elevation of what this collective does the best storytelling
The EP starts with the intro track 'Bars' which shows off the group's exceptional skill for technical rhyming with rapid-fire back-to-back verses over, a rugged hip hop, up-tempo breakbeat.
'Overland' slows down the tempo of the EP with an insightful record, documenting each member's trials and tribulations and perseverance with the hook citing - "I will get there, When I can, Overland or Over shore".
The Third track 'Glass Ceiling' is the title track that switches the tone, tempo, and topic to a more introspective one. The catchy hook and bouncy drum-heavy production hook you, into a more serious conversation about youth violence, gang activity, community and personal responsibilities, and experiences living in inner-city London.
Finally, is the uplifting outro record 'Life Like' Juke 84 Remix. The track rounds up the EP with each member holding up a mirror to each other, asking 'what's your life like?' in celebration of each other successes while narrating their own journeys over silky Hip Hop production.
Long-time collaborator/music producer - Juke 84 has been brought into the fold, not only on production (producing the title track 'Glass Ceiling' and 'Life Like' Remix) but also on executive producer duties (for the first time) to assist with the direction and cohesion of the EP.
Other producer credits included - UK Hip Hop producer legend and Tea Sea Records own Tom Caruana and production from another long-time collaborator of the FRSHRZ producer/mixing & mastering wizard - Dae Stacks (Dae Keys) with vocal chorus performance from Nino Sip.
The 'Glass Ceiling' EP is a symbolic reference to the barrier the group has ascended past musically but also announces the group's intentions to ascend to new heights.
